Counting down to 23 September

July 4th, 2008

Just a note: Updates to this site are sporadic right now and will continue to be that way until the beginning of September. I’m preparing for a cross-country move, and then I have to actually move, and then soon after that I’m leaving for vacation. It’s all a bit hectic! So if updates don’t happen much, I’m not abandoning this site or anything; I’m just swamped. I will be back and ready to go before the new season starts, though!

Speaking of the new season… Without a Trace will start on Tuesday, 23 September. Yay! And TV Guide reports that there’s no mention of Samantha’s baby in the first three episodes, so double yay! I know, I know… I shouldn’t be hatin’ on the baby. But I really was not a fan of that storyline. (Okay, let’s be fair - I was not a fan of the entire post-strike part of the season and hope the writers are back on track for Season 7.)

And finally, a South African publication has a good article about Eric Close.

You think it’s easy being surrounded by guys with guns all day?

The blog FBI Dramas has a lovely post about Enrique Murciano. Danny’s my favorite, so I was very pleased to see that post.

Also, the Japanese fansite So Close has some lovely photos of Enrique from the Edinburgh International Film Festival. The site also has some great photos of the rest of the cast here, here, and here (some are older photos, but still great).

Happy Birthday Poppy!

June 19th, 2008

I’ve decided I need to celebrate birthdays here, so…

Happy Birthday to Poppy Montgomery!

Poppy Petal Emma Elizabeth Devereaux Donahue was born on 19 June 1972 (or 1975) in Sydney, Australia. (Sister, embrace your true age!) But whatever her age (personally I’m rooting for 1972), today we celebrate her arrival on planet Earth. We’re glad you came!

Happy Birthday!

‘Round the web

June 18th, 2008

Roselyn Central has scans of Roselyn Sanchez’s article from Instyle Weddings, as well as outtake photos.

Roselyn Connection (a French Roselyn fan site) has other photos from the shoot. The site also has a lot of photos from other older photo shoots.

Anthony LaPaglia Online has added photos of ALP from the Save The Children Bingo Benefit from October 2006, a couple photos from the movie Black and Blue, and photos from the Hollywood All Stars Football Club vs. The Rifles on 6 June.

So Close, a Japanese Eric Close/Enrique Murciano site, has a bunch of Enrique photos from various magazines, and a couple photos of Eric Close from the Monte Carlo TV Festival (I think; Google’s translations help, but aren’t perfect). They also have a video clip of Eric from that Festival.

That Japanese site linked me to a French magazine with an interview with Eric Close. If you don’t speak French, you can do what I did and put it through your preferred online translation software (Google’s translations aren’t perfect, but at least you get the idea).

For some reason, I find it fascinating that the French title of WaT is FBI: Portés disparus, which Google is translating as FBI: Swept missing. If someone who speaks French can tell me whether that is a good translation, I’d appreciate it. Those two years of junior high French just really aren’t helping me here :-)

What does torture get us?

June 18th, 2008

A newspaper in Scotland has a good article about torture and its glorification on TV. Without a Trace is mentioned, and in a good light. It refers to the episode “Res Ipsa”. (Season 6 is currently airing in the UK, hence the article and episode reference.)

[I]n this episode of Without a Trace, a nasty CIA agent assures Jack Malone that the knife is just for show and you believe him.

Minutes later, he slices off the victim’s thumb. Malone steps in immediately and lands him a swift punch which sends him reeling.

Now, the cynics among you will say that it was an excuse to use a bit of torture and follow it with a hasty “torture isn’t really very admirable” message.

Maybe.

But, at least, there was an anti-torture message.

Anthony LaPaglia and Soccer

June 10th, 2008

There have been quite a few news articles about Anthony LaPaglia and soccer the last few days, but this one from ESPN Soccernet is quite good and deserves to be linked. It talks more about ALP than soccer, and includes an interview. Read and enjoy.

WaT on CBS moves to Tuesdays starting today, June 3rd

June 3rd, 2008

It is, of course, all reruns now, but if you want to watch, remember to watch tonight.

Tonight’s episode is from Season 5, “Eating Away”.

Barry Rosen goes missing shortly after being poisoned with bleach in a chili eating contest. While investigating Barry’s disappearance, the team soon learns that he had been approached to throw the eating contest, and also that he had been spending a lot of time with a local prostitute in an effort to learn how to act around women. Danny is caught in the middle when Carlos asks him for a letter of reference in an upcoming custody review, and Elena informs him that Carlos is actually suing her for sole custody of Sofie. Danny warns Carlos that he is not going to be caught in the middle. [source]

Also, Roselyn Sanchez is today’s HD Hottie.
