007 - Snatch Back

Summary

Abby Buckman, age 3, is snatched from a park when her nanny has her back turned. Is it the nanny who took her? The woman from the father’s affair? An angry family member or other person from the mother’s work as a district attorney? Nope. The kidnapper is the surrogate mom who snatched the wrong cute little blonde-haired toddler.

Quotes

Danny: That sounds like a cheap voice distorter. This guy’s an amateur.
Vivian: Unmarked bills. A dumpster. It’s stuff he learned from watching too much TV.

[At ransom dropoff, waiting]
Samantha: Nothing but the rats and the roaches.
Danny: At least you got company.

Ransom guy: I didn’t take the kid. I swear to God, I don’t have nothing to do with it. I saw it on the news, no one was asking for a ransom, so I thought I would. I figured it’d be easy money.
Jack: Easy money. Didn’t occur to you that we’d be all over this.
Ransom guy: I told her not to call the police.
Jack: You are, hands down, the biggest idiot I’ve ever met.
Ransom guy: Am I being charged with something?
Jack: Oh, you better believe it, Sparky. How about obstruction of justice and extortion to start with.
