Notes
This is a continuation of the story started in 05 Suspect and 21 Are You Now or Have You Ever Been. Since Spaulding wasn’t convincted in Ep 21, he is now getting his revenge on Jack.
The song that opens the episode (which is the song that Andy burned on the CD for the girl he liked and is the song Jack plays in the car for Spaulding when trying to manipulate him back in Episode 05, Suspect), “One of These Mornings” by Moby, also starts the first episode where we meet Spaulding (05).
Jack spent part of his youth in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Roberto Clemente of the Pirates (baseball) was his favorite player.
Jack’s mother died when he was 16 years old. She killed herself.
Quotes
Martin: We’ve got ourselves a copycat.
Jack: Right, which means we are dealing with someone of above-average intelligence, who is capable of researching the material, twisting the facts, and incorporating it into his own scenario.
Martin: Well, the husband’s a lawyer. They’re usually of above average intelligence. Sort of.
Martin: You sure you want me to do this? You’re the one that has a history with this guy.
Jack: Yeah, not a very good one. Okay, now listen. He’s a classic alpha male with homophobic tendencies that sublimate into his hatred for women. He likes to be in control. Let him. Secretly, he likes authority. So don’t take any crap from him.
Martin: Not a problem.
Jack: Good luck, Clarice.
